About The Site

The site is about my surf fishing. Pics, comments, what I like, what I use, etc.,etc.

I like to get out there and fish. Try to catch fish, Striped Bass, Blues, False Albies, Weak Fish. Fishing my way, catching the most and largest fish is not the most important thing, although those are the goals…..but the experience of each trip is what it is about. I’m basically a weekend angler fishing around 45 -50 times a year. And……I like catching on what I want to catch on. I don’t own an SP Minnow, don’t throw bucktails that much. I fish whats fun for me. Alone almost always. Away from others. Respect others space. Their experience.

Each year is like turning the page for me, I come up with new ideas, different plans. Make it interesting for myself.

It’s about getting out on the water and lost in the pursuit of catching. And while out there Fish Hard, have fun.

Releasing a Striper at Sandy Hook the False Rip
25/17/2009 Fishing Raritan Bay

It started in 1992, first trip surf fishing was with my father, brother-in law Bob and his father Bob. Big Gators chased moss bunker down the beach. They each caught one, they had to be 20 lbs. Incredible fights. The next day I caught two Striped Bass, 24 inches and 28 inches in freezing temperatures on a Bomber. After fishing streams for trout and ponds and lakes for bass my whole life, I would never be the same again. I would fish the salt from that day on.

My Dad took me fishing from when I was 5 years old. Lakes for Sun fish, then large and small mouth bass and then streams for trout. Then fly fishing for trout. He introduced my brother and me into fishing, we had incredible fun times. Right up to a yearly trip to Island Beach for the end of the fall run. Great times.
