Things are bound to happen out there. There is the trip where the Tip-top ceramic ring broke, The Avid rod broke a mile from the Outlander (taped reel onto what was left and kept catching. The Fenwick rod broke in half. The Van Staal 150 reel handle snapped off. Falling into jetty holes from the stupid Jersey beach replenishment. That was the same trip I ran over some guy trying to catch a football in the wash (flattened him like a pancake). Ripping waders to shreds fishing Sandy Hook by the Navy Pier (bottom there is rough). 3:00 AM caught a 30 inch Bass on a Super Strike Darter, had one hook in the bass and one on my finger. That was one of a few times the hook in the finger trick happened. How about at night looking behind me and seeing a bear with a hard hat on. Or finding an Alien on the beach (pics below). I have cut a hook out of a fisherman’s hand at 2:00 AM. Had a show down with a racoon. Stuff just happens….
