June 27th, West, 10:30 PM – 3:30 AM, Ocean side and the elbow. Nothing doing ocean side, low tide ~1:15 AM. Picked up a 24 inch bass and 33 inch bass, had my braid brake on a fish on a white Sluggo. Fun trip, lot of time in the surf.

June 13th to 21st, 5 trips out west in front and back. 10:30 PM to ~3:30 AM mostly. Wind was not what I wanted for the vacation. Highlight was an OK bass out front on long cast on a Sluggo. There were dog fish out from, but in the back they were out of control. Could see them in 2-3 feet of water going back in forth in a pack. Saw like 8 together 3 feet from the sand one time. Caught half dozen or so accidentally. Skunked one out of the five nights, but just not a lot of fish. Caught one on a Max Rap like the old days in one spot. Out front a short bass spit up a lot of small bait. And first fish on a 7″ Nessie, was out front. And of course a bunch of hits missed. Fun vaca.

June 16th, West, 10:30 PM – 3:30 AM, Ocean side for an hour, to many weeds. Back side, couple half hearted hits, no hook ups. Looked like a good amount of small bait around.
June 15th, West, 10:30 PM – 3:30 AM Ocean side rocks. Nice night and water. Lost a nice fish on blurple redfin. Then on long sat with a sluggo, open beach picked up one 35 inches. Fun, a few other bumps on sluggo.

June 13th, West, 10:30 PM – 3:30 AM, Ocean side and was a beautiful night. Not to warm, water chilly, still in waders. Had two short bass and three dog fish, two of the dogfish on the Albie Snax and the other on a PM Darter. ….that was weird. Missed a few hits and dropped at least one dogfish.

June 6th, West, 10:30 PM – 3:30 AM, Ocean side for a couple hours then backside. No fish, had some blues mess with me, a sluggo bit in half and a Dinner Catcher, line bit. Nivce night, but nothing doing. Looking forward to next trip….a lot.. Did “stumble” across these….
May 31st, out west. First trip ocean side this year, fished 10:30 PM to 2:45 AM, shorter trip. I am atrocious when there is a large bright moon out there, I continue that trend. Chilly night, nice surf, not a great tide. One sluggo bit in half and that was it. Looking forward to next trip.
May 24th, out west. Fished from 10:45 PM to 3:45 AM, beautiful gnarly conditions, no one else out. Dropped a fish midway through the trip on the Outcast Surfster. Then just a few bumps on other Stuff. At the end hooked up on a long cast with the Outcast Surfster, landed my best fish of the year so far, 42 inches. Fun trip, enjoyed the wind and rain. Had a little weeds, but just a joy being out there.

May 20th, out west. Fished from 10:30-3:15. Another nice night, wind changed direction from other trips. I could not find a fish. Pounded about a 1/2 of water over and over. Oh well, Saturday night should be different conditions.
May 19th, out west. Fished from 10:30-3:15. Beautiful night again, keeps getting to calm around 1:00….. Two bass on the 9″ Nessie, its been my most productive plug. Fun trip again.

May 18th, out west. Fished from 10:30-3:45. Dropped my largest bass of the year, about 2 feet from having on the sand when the 9″ Nessie hooks pulled. I could have done a better job landing her. Urghhhh, Ended up with one bass on a sluggo. Fun trip….heading out there again…

May 17th, first Jersey trip of the year. Fished with my friend Blair from 10:45 PM to ~3:30 AM. Had a great time as usual when I get to fish with him, fish hard and talk fishing. I picked up two bass around 35 inches, then a little later I see a big swirl far out and Blairs rod bent. He landed the fish of the trip on the 9″ Nessie. Around 37-38 inch Bass (darn pic is blurred). Beautiful Bass. Most fun trip of the year, good times.

May 16th, was out west at 10:30 PM fished to 3:00 AM. Missed solid hits on a Sluggo and Freestyler. Picked up one Bass on a 9″ Nessie, head first. Nice night. Lots of participation, but had crazy room (didn’t fish near anyone). Water got crazy calm, was supposed to be windy.

May 9th, was out west at 10:30 PM, was greeted by a wall of fog. Threw into it for a few hours, took a ride to two other locations and it was the same. So short trip with nothing to show for it. Think that may have been the most dense fog I have seen out there.
Missing 2 Saturday night trips, will be out there 5/9. Crazy anxious to get out there. Driving me nuts.
April 22nd, out West, 10:45 PM – 3:00 AM, Weather to nice, should have pivoted. Was like a lake, could not find anything. Way to nice of a night out there.
April 21st, out West, 10:15 PM – 3:00 AM, this was a nice night, wind and waves out back. Had four fish on, landed one. Spaced out on the trip, one was real nice size. Likely my favorite trip of the year so far, just finding the fish.

April 20th, out West, 10:15 PM – 3:00 AM, this was a chilly one, especially the hands. Big time skunk, had one hit on 13.5″ Gravity Eel. Wind and cold made for some cold hands. Saw one other guy out there and he was also without fish.
April 19th, out West, 10:15 PM – 3:15 AM, Nice chilly night, no fish. Had a nice fish on a Outcast Surfster, hit on a bar and all hell broke loose. Also dropped one on a Lokie Skinny Minnie. Not much action, completely alone out there….wonderful!!
April 18th, out West, 10:30 PM – 3:15 AM, dark night with some fog. Dropped one, missed a few hit, had one other guy out there fishing, same as last week. Loving the solitude!!! Never fish a crowd. Managed three bass, largest on Chucks paint job of a Savage Gear Freestyler, the other two my first fish on the Berkley 9″ Nessie. Bass were ~30, 33 and 36 inches. Fun night.

April 11th, out West, 10:30 PM – 3:30 AM, back side. Only bunker I saw was one washed up. Nice night, little cold on wet hands, fished the incoming, a couple bumps, managed two on the large Freestyler. Fun trip, good to get a bend in the rod.

April 3rd, out West, 10:30 PM – 2:30 AM, back side. Covered about a mile of water, bunker out the wazoo, most I have seen in this area. 8-12 inches, but could not find a fish. easily 75% of casts bumped a bunker, released well over a dozen. Looking forward to next trip, was great to get out there, shake out the cobwebs, had the place to myself, good weather.
Going to go to single trebles again on almost all plugs. Will give it another shot.
